About me

Iris is a Finnish, Berlin-based singer, musician and vocal teacher with a love for styles ranging from pop and rock to metal. Iris’s goal is to empower singers to use their voice in a variety of ways, combining solid vocal technique with extreme methods such as screaming and growling.

With beginners, the focus is on healthy foundations while beginning to explore extreme techniques. With advanced singers, specific techniques can be pinpointed and refined.

Since 2021, Iris has taught private students in Berlin, and their experience with over 150 students has allowed Iris to develop several group programs tailored to the needs of rock and metal vocal enthusiasts. GROWL like a GRRRL for FLINTA* beginners launched in 2024 and quickly became the most requested class, later expanding into the mixed-gender “sibling” group Kickstart Your GROWL.

In 2025, Iris broadened the offering with the widely requested advanced course GROWL like a PRO. Seeing that many beginners need stronger clean-vocal basics before adding distortions safely while beginner slots being limited, Iris created Vocal Power BOOTCAMP as the essential starting point for extreme vocals.

While working on their original music and rock and pop cover bands, Iris has continued their own advanced vocal training in recent years to expand their range, belting technique and versatility across pop, hard rock and power metal.

Beyond their own studio, Iris has worked as a band coach at the Music Empowerment Mobility Exchange (MEME), a collaborative European project empowering FLINTA* youth to engage in music making. They have also led vocal workshops at MEME and the DICE Festival. Lessons are available in German, English or Finnish, offered in person at Rockhaus, Buchberger Str. 6, 10365 Berlin (U5 Magdalenenstr.) and online.
